Project: Full Perimeter Fence Painting • Fairburn, GA
THE CLIENT'S GOAL
The homeowner had their fence built a few months prior and was ready to paint it for a cleaner look and added durability.
They wanted a bold, modern finish that would hold up over time—so we landed on a black semi-gloss for a sharp appearance and easier maintenance.
THE CHALLENGE
Fence painting looks simple, but the results come down to prep and technique—especially on newer wood and in unpredictable weather. This project required:
-
Proper cleaning so paint would bond correctly
-
A consistent finish across a full perimeter fence
-
Smart scheduling around rain and moisture so curing wouldn’t be compromised
OUR APPROACH
To deliver a uniform, durable finish, we followed a system that works well for full-perimeter fences:
BEFORE VIDEO

1) POWER WASH + DRY TIME
We started with a full power wash to remove dirt, pollen, and buildup so the coating would adhere properly. Then we allowed appropriate dry time before moving into paint.
2) PREP FOR PAINT ADHESION
We prepped fence boards to ensure smooth coverage and reduce the chance of premature peeling—especially important for newer fences.
3) SPRAY APPLICATION + BACK-ROLL
We sprayed the fence for efficient, even coverage, then back-rolled to work the paint into the grain and ensure a consistent finish across boards. This combination helps avoid patchiness and improves uniformity.
4) WEATHER-AWARE SCHEDULING
Despite inclement weather, we completed the job in 3 days by working inside safe windows and pausing when conditions weren’t right for application or curing.
